Glean in Microsoft Teams seamlessly integrates with your company’s knowledge ecosystem. Glean uses its deep understanding of your organization's content, employees, and activities to provide you with personalized, relevant answers. This guide will help you get started and make the most of Glean in Microsoft Teams.
Access Glean in Microsoft Teams
Check Sidebar
If "Glean" is not visible in your Teams sidebar, proceed to the next step.
Open Teams App Store
Click on the “Apps” icon on the left side bar to access the Teams App store.
Search for Glean
In the search bar, type "Glean" to find the application. If Glean doesn't appear in the list of apps, it means your admin hasn't enabled it for you yet.
Install the App
Click “Add” and follow the prompts to install "Glean" on your Teams platform.
Access starter prompts
To begin, navigate to the chat window in Teams. At the bottom-right corner, you will find a selection of starter prompts provided by Glean. These prompts are designed to help you quickly formulate your questions and initiate your search.
Ask a question
Once you’ve selected or formulated your question, enter it into the chat. Glean will search across a wide range of data sources and resources to provide you with the most relevant answers, helping you gather insights from multiple platforms. For more information, refer to this guide for using Chat.
View sources
After receiving your response, you can review the sources Glean used to generate the response. Simply click on the "Show Sources" button. This will display a list of the documents and resources where the information originated, allowing you to verify and further explore the content.
Pin “Glean”
Locate Glean
If "Glean" is not currently pinned to your Teams sidebar, find it in your list of applications.
Access the Options
Click on the ellipsis (three dots) next to "Glean."
Pin the Application
Select "Pin" from the dropdown menu.
Once you complete these steps, "Glean" will be pinned for easier access on your sidebar.
